This program introduces kids to coding using Scratch, a block-based, intuitive language. Participants will learn about important programming concepts while designing fun and interactive projects.
All our instructors are local BC Engineers with the know-how and the passion for engineering.

Age Groups
Typically 7-12 year old kids will enjoy the workshops the most, but we welcome all age groups who are willing to take on the challenge!
Typical Class
We meet live online on Zoom or similar conferencing app. Each 60-minute workshop includes demos, debug challenges and weekly assignments to keep kids engaged and learning. Kids are introduced to new concepts/tools every workshop and they are provided support as they imagine and give shape to their own ideas using Scratch.
Requirements
You will need a PC/Mac with a browser to run the Scratch Program and a stable internet connection. You can sign up for a FREE Scratch account at scratch.mit.edu


Program Details


What


Program consists of 5 sessions of 90 mins each and includes project supplies.

Topics from the BC science curriculum will be introduced every week. Each class consists of interactive computer simulations, live demos, and one build and take home project related to the topic.
