Through 5 live online classes, kids will build a cool robot that uses sensors to guide itself through obstructions.

Project Kits delivered to you! For ages 9-14.

In this program, participants will:

Assemble and connect motors, controllers, and sensors
Program the behavior of the the robot using an intuitive block programming interface
Learn about Arduino platform
Get ideas for more robotics projects to try using the given hardware

This workshop requires careful assembly. Robot kits will be delivered to your home. Kids will keep all materials so they can use the components to build other robots and continue exploring after the camp.

Requirements:

Basic knowledge of Scratch programming
Windows Computer with functioning USB port

All our instructors are local BC Engineers with the know-how and the passion for engineering.

Age Groups

For 9-14 year olds. The projects are setup such that kids can complete them with minimal supervision, but parent participation is recommended for this virtual program.

Typical Class

We meet live online on Zoom or similar conferencing app. During Each 90-minute class, kids will work towards building a complete working robot from scratch. Additionally, kids wil learn about robotics concepts using demos and hands-on experiments.

Robot Kits

Cost for Robot Kit is included in the program fees. Robot Kits will be mailed before the start of the class. Shipping costs for locations outside Lower Mainland are not included.

Program Details

What

Program consists of 5 sessions of 90 mins each and includes project supplies.

Topics from the BC science curriculum will be introduced every week. Each class consists of interactive computer simulations, live demos, and one build and take home project related to the topic.
