Robo Engineers - Afterschool Robotics Program
Robo Engineers is a hands-on basic robotics learning opportunity for youth between 8 and 14 years old.
In this program, kids explore various aspects of robotics including sensors, motors, and micro-controllers while assembling, coding and testing a robot car. Each class introduces a new concept and kids interact with various hands-on activities, demos, simulations and games while building their robot.
In this program participants will:
- Assemble and connect motors, controllers, and sensors
- Program the behavior of the the robot using an intuitive block programming interface
- Learn about Arduino platform
- Get ideas for more robotics projects to try using the given hardware
The projects that kids do in our Robotics classes help build their capabilities in teamwork, problem solving and coding concepts.
At EngKidz, we believe in delivering STEM education to all kids and youth that want to learn more. It is our mission to nurture creativity and a maker spirit in all children.
To find out where Robo Engineers is being offered In-Person see below our current list of afterschool programs, Summer camps, Summer classes, or check out the kids programs at your local recreation centers.
Didn't find a convenient location, please invite your local schools and recreation centers to get in touch with us, we are constantly evaluating new locations to offer programs.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where do we offer programs?
We currently offer STEM after school programs in several Surrey elementary schools, and at leisure/recreation centers in Surrey. More locations and programs are in the works.
Why is STEM education important?
STEM education improves problem solving skills and creativity, which helps kids succeed in all career paths, not just STEM careers.
What programs do we offer?
Our STEM programs include robotics, engineering, arts, 3D printing, and more.
What is a typical class like?
All our classes begin with a fun introduction to a science concept and include hands-on activities, science games, computer simulations, live demos and take-home project building.
What is different about EngKidz Programs?
EngKidz STEM workshops and projects are carefully designed by engineers to connect science and technology with real world engineering. Each hands-on take-home project is unique, but can be easily modified using everyday items, thus providing a creative playground to encourage innovation.
EngKidz program are closely aligned with BC Science and ADST (Applied Design, Skills, and Technologies) curriculum.
What age group are these programs for?
Our programs are designed for 7-13 year olds.
